Starting off 2010 with my first self portrait. I wanted to work with the winde angle lens (Sigma 10-20mm) and the sun just happened to be out. So I managed to catch it between my fingers. Post process work was done in Photoshop, with some curves adjustment and a custom cross process action.
Salt Dunes of St. Kilda
Posted in Landscapes with tags Adelaide, memories, salt pans, St Kilda on January 7, 2010 by AdamI went for a drive yesterday, out past the St. Kilda Salt Pans where Cheetham Salt produce their table salt. They’re on Port Wakefield Road, the main road north of Adelaide out towards Pt. Augusta, as well as out to the Yorke & Eyre Peninsulas. My family owns a smale house at Pt. Vincent where we used to spend Christmas/New Year’s almost every year when I was little. So these dunes are cemented in my early memories of those long (to me when I was 4 at least) drives.
Yesterday the weather was perfect – no clouds, bue sky – and there was water on the pans. I couldn’t resist!
Beginning…
Posted in Live Bands with tags Live Bands, Static-X on January 4, 2010 by AdamAfter a couple of attempts to start a photoblog in the past, I figured I’d try and use this as more of a general blog, but with lots of photography. I’ll be depositing various photos I take throughout 2010 here for your pleasure. I’m planning to do more photography this year for myself. Last year I took up live band photography, but I want to diversify a bit – try some new things with architectural thoughts running throug my head, as well get back into film (finances willing!).
To kick things off, here are a couple of shots from my last gig in November (it’s been a while, but December was busy!). I shot Static-X, Se Bon Ki Ra & Deafening Silence at Fowler’s Live. I used to be a pretty big fan of Static-X after listening to Shadow Zone, but my love of their music has waned a little – they’ve left that sound behind and seem to have gone back to their slightly out there nu-metal style. But I was keen to shoot this gig nonetheless. The place was packed and I at least had a crowd barrier to hide on front of. (Some venues could learn from that – not looking at anyone, The Ed Castle or The Gov…)
